Show UNITED VERDE EX. CO. MAKES GOOD RECORD After a four months' shutdown, United Verde Extension Mining company has hit a 4,000,000 pound per month stride In the matter of production. Operations were suspended about the middle of February and resumed last month. The end of March found this company with about 28,000,000 pounds of unsold , copper on hand, but the buying movement 1 since that time and which increased during dur-ing the property's idleness, resulted in lowering that tonnage, although surplus metal was not entirely sold. ' I Labor troubles which threatened at the time the company made wage reductions in common with other copper producers early in the year, effected a compiete shutdown of the property. This 100 per ,. cent curtailment, however, developed at Sfc a time when there was no demand for copper. Today, United Verde Extension resumes its position as the lowest cost copper producer in the United States. June output was at the rate of 3,000.000 pounds, but operations since the beginning begin-ning of July Indicate a yield for the current cur-rent month of 4,000,000 pounds. Although the "heart" of its extremely hjgh-grade copper deposit has been mined, Verde Extension today .is working on ore which averages 12 per cent copper. cop-per. Boston News Bureau. |
