Show CHINESE DELEGATES GOING TO CAPITAL TO PRESENT CLAIMS NEW YORK, July 16. Arriving here today from Paris, en route to China, Dr. H. K. Kung and T. H. Hsu, who carried the protest of the people of China to their delegates at the peace conference, urging them not to accede to the proposed pro-posed grant of the Shantung peninsula to Japan, announced they would proceed pro-ceed immediately to Washington to confer con-fer with senators "interested In the Chinese-Japanese situation." "China wants to sign the Austrian treaty, so she may become a member of the league of nations," safd Mr. Hsu. "China is still at war technically with Germany and must make a separate peace. "The Chinese delegates at the peace conference held several audiences with the Big Three at the beginning of the conference, con-ference, but afterward their requests for audiences were refused. We appreciate j the efforts of President Wilson in behalf be-half of China, but his hands were tied. "When we reach our country, we intend in-tend to advise the government to refuse re-fuse to carry out the twenty-one demands de-mands of Japan, which, if carried out in full, would enable Japan to control all of China." |
