Show STATISTICS REPORTED ON WATER SHORTAGE At the city commission meeting yesterday yester-day morning City Engineer Sylvester Q. Cannon made a report, in the course of which he said that, by actual measurement, measure-ment, he had discovered it will be neces-sarv neces-sarv to save 6,000,0i() gallons of water everv day to make up 4Si,000,00 gallons of water" which do not exist., Mr. Cannon Can-non explained that his figures are based upon fhe end of September as an objective, objec-tive, with no rain in the meantime. Beyond Be-yond that time he refuses to figure or even speculate. The canyon streams, according to the city engineer, are lower than hey have ever before been since 1902, the earliest time of keeping accurate records of their measurements. Considering ways and means of saving water, the commissioners talked of shunting shunt-ing sprinkling wagons to canals for their supply, the substitution of oil on some of the streets, and possibly pumping water for sprinkling of some of the parks. |
