Show GARFIELD 4 . - GARFtELD, July 8. Mrs. T. M. Davis waB hostess to the C. L. club Friday afternoon, June 30, at a Kensington. Mrs. H. M. Henson entertained the same club Katurdav afternoon in courtesv to her house guest, Mrs.D. E. Carter of Salt Ljake. The Woman's auxiliary crave a card party nnd Fourth of Julv entertainment for children Tuesday afternoon at the Garfield club. Appropriate table effects were secured by artistic cake decorations, and favors and prizes were patriotic emblems. em-blems. A Ash pond with noisy toys added add-ed to the pleasure of the little folks. Mrs. A. P. Kimball served an attractive luncheon Thursday afternoon to the mem-bers mem-bers of the C. L. club. The afternoon was spent In cards and sewing. Mrs. D. E. Carter was a guest of the club. ' The Women's club celebrated the Fourth In a- christening of their new park in its Jlrst gala entertainment. An excellent band was engaged for the occasion occa-sion and all of Gartield was invited to camp on the grounds for their evening meal and entertainment. Tn addition to the music, peanuts, popcorn, lemonade and Ice cream vendors were in force, and an Interesting local programme was given. Patriotic songs nnrr drills by children chil-dren were special features, and Dr. D. I, . Pnrnard made a good talk on "The Purpose and Promise of the Playground." After the festivities the musicians and the crowd adjourned to the Garfield club, where a free dance gave a pleasant finale to the day's events. The Baker's Dozen club met Thursday afternoon for an auction lirtde luncheon with Mrs. W. R Mayniond. A bow 1 of pink rambler roses formed the centerpiece of the table. On the lawn were manv colored lanterns, where music and dancing were enjoyed. The Argyle, club met with Mrs. John Spendlovp.
