Show MERCHANTS ASSURE FILL FHOil Big Affair Will Be Held During Three Days in Next September. ! One of tho most Important announcements announce-ments ever made by the retail merchants of Salt Iake is the news given out yesterday yes-terday that the merchants have decided to give two fashion shows In Salt Lake each year, beginning with a fall fashion show to be held three days, September 11, 12 and 13. Thousands of people throughout the lntormountaln west will be vitally interested inter-ested in learning of this decision, and there is even' indication that the semiannual semi-annual fashion show, one to be held in the spring of the year and the other In the fail, will prove the most important drawing card Salt Lake has known in years. All the mercantile Interests of the city are working in unison on the event and elaborate plans are already under way for the Fall Fashion show, to be held September 11, 12 and 13 in Salt Lake. A committee of local merchants has been appointed, consisting of William i Need ham, Walter Lewis, Milton Beifuss land Herbert S. Auerbach, chairman, and this committee announced yesterday that it had decided to offer a prize of $25 in gold for the best design submitted immediately im-mediately for posters which the committee commit-tee can have reproduced and exhibited throughout Salt Lake and the intermoun-tain intermoun-tain states in general advertising the Fall Fashion show. This poster must contain the following wording In addition to the pictorial 'design. 'de-sign. "Fall Fashion Show, Salt Lake City, September lllh-13th; rates on all railroad rail-road s. ' ' All designs should be submitted at the earliest possible moment and in no case later than August 1. They may be sent or mailed to Herbert Auerbach, care of Auerbach Co., Salt Lake City. The poster may be designed for one or more colors. In reaching their decision to give a semi-annual Fashion show, the merchants of the city are following the lead that 1 has been set recently in various parts of the United States of putting aside three i days In the fall and three days in the I spring of the year, when all the mer- chants of the city shall stase a fashion i show with many unusual and distinctive features. Salt Lake merchants are arranging with the railroads for reduced rates, and it Is i expected that these will be so low as to : prove extremely attractive to thousands of out-of-town people. The preparations now under way for the coming Fashion show, September 11, 12 and 13, will embrace some very unusual un-usual and distinctive things, and details will be announced from- time to time. |
