Show FLOTATION PLIT IS NFARINGCOMPLETION Mill at Walker Mining Company's Com-pany's Property to Start in August. The flotation plant being installed on the Walker Mining company's property, prop-erty, located in Plumas county, Cal., ia rapidly nearing completion and it is expected that operations in it will be started during the first part of August. Reports received by local officials are to the effect that the tramway will also be completed on schedule time. Excellent Excel-lent progress is being made oa all of the construction work and also in all of the mine development work. With another sixty feet of driving the tunnel will be at a point vertically beneath be-neath the main shaft. It is being driven driv-en to take care of the surface water caused by the melting snow and will give a depth of lb'0 feet. The company is also considering tho driving of another an-other tunnel that will open the property to a depth of 800 feet and will allow the ores to be trammed directly to the mill. The mill is located about 4600 feet from the shaft. For the purpose of determining the depth of the ore bodies, diamond drilling drill-ing is now in progress. Recently fifty-six fifty-six feet of diamond drilling was done through solid ore, an average of the drilling showing 12 per cent copper. There has been proved to date in the property, by diamond drilling, cross-cutting cross-cutting and drifting, approximately 1S3,-000 1S3,-000 tons of copper ore that, according to the local officials, will average 7 per cent iu copper. The ore body i6 about 350 feet iu length, it has been determined deter-mined to be at least 350 feet in depth and it has an average width of eighteen feet. The estimates are based on twelve cubic feet of ore weighing one ton. The mill, when in operation, will have a capacity of 100 tons per day and the concentrates produced will be hauled to Portola, a division point on the Western Pacific railroad, and from there will be shipped to the smelters here. |
