Shipping approximately 300 tons of lead-silver concentrates per month, the Wilbert Mining company, the property of which is located in the Dome mining min-ing district, twenty-five miles east of Arco, Ida., is adding to its treasury and it is understood that the directors will meet in the near future to take action on the question of dividends. According to tho last annual report, dated May 15, the company had cash on hand amounting to $4l),4b7.61, which has since been added to by oro shipments. ship-ments. At the present metal prices the Wilbert company is earning a very good profit on its operations. The work at the mine on the 600-foot 600-foot level is proceeding iu a satisfactory satisfac-tory manner, according to General Manager Man-ager H. S. Knight, who has returned from a trip to the property. On that level plans are under way to begin stoping the ore, which is of a better grade than that mined on the upper levels. It carries about 45 per cent in lead and about 15 ounces in silver to the ton. i Due to a change in the dip of the vein it was necessary to drift to the east from the 600-foot level to cut it instead of drifting to tho west as heretofore. here-tofore. The vein has been drifted on since cutting it for a distance of about thirty-five feet. It is also considerably flatter than heretofore and when the stoping operations are started there will be in the neighborhood of 100 feet of backs. The mill is running in a very satisfactory satis-factory manner, one shift being employed. em-ployed. The Wilbert company can operate its mill at a good profit when lead is selling on the basis of $4.20 per hundred pounds and the recent high prices of that metal have added materially ma-terially to the earnings of the company. |
