Show HUDSON SUPER-SIX SETS M RECORD Mr. and Mrs. Frank Botter-ill Botter-ill Delighted With Ex-periences Ex-periences of Trip. After completing what is unquestionably unques-tionably one of the most remarkable and unusual transcontinental automobile trips of recent years, Frank Rotterill returned in a Hudson Super-Six roadster road-ster Monday afternoon of last week, with a record of having driven the car nearly 4000 miles in a tour extending from Detroit eastward to the Atlantic seaboard and then back across the continent con-tinent to Ieuvcr and Salt Lake. Mr. Botterill returned with a glowing account of business conditions and enthusiasm en-thusiasm over the performance of the Super-Six, that is certain to prove of a great deal of interest to' owners in the mtermountain west who havo purchased the Super-Six, whether or not they have just received delivery of their cars. Such records as a drive of "425 miles in a single day, and a run from Denver to Salt Lake in twenty hours and five minutes, the distance being 578 miles, are but highlights in a trip that was filled with unusual circumstances from start to finish. Mr. and Mrs. Botterill took delivery of their Super-Six roadster June 1) at the Hudson factory in Detroit, and after shipping the car from Detroit to Buffalo by boat they first drove the car to Geneva, N. V., thence to Pough-keepsie Pough-keepsie and then to New York City. From New York Mr. and Mrs. Botterill Bot-terill drove west to Philadelphia, then to Bedford Springs, Pennsylvania, Pittsburg, Cleveland, O., Indianapolis, Danville, Til., Davenport, Atlantic, la., and into Kearney, Neb. It was from Kearney, Neb., to Den- (Continued ou Page Hudson Super-Six Sets Record on Tour (Continued from Pago One.) ver that they made one of their most phenominal trips, driving the 425 miles between b' :45 Wednesday morning and Ji:45 the same night, when they reached Denver. Mr. P.otterill states that from the Atlantic At-lantic seaboard to Salt Lake the Super-Six Super-Six passed every car on the road autl one of the most remarkable features of the trip lies in the fact that until Denver was reached, after driving some 3d00 miles, the tool roll of the car had not even been opened. With the exception of a leaky radiator radia-tor ami a fan belt tightened not a tool was touched to the car from the time it left the factory until it reached Denver. Den-ver. Mr. Botterill states that because he had plenty of time at Denver he had the valves of the car ground. The trip from Denver to Salt Lako was made without an untoward incident of any character and the car was not touched except to adjust the valve lifters lift-ers at Lyman, Wyo. Tn discussing his trip Mr. Botterill said yesterday: The speed with which the Super-Six Super-Six brought, us across the country is, of course, a gratifying feature of the trip inasmuch as for the last eight days into Denver we averaged 2(50 miles pier day, and on the trip from Denver to Salt Lake we came through in twenty hours and five minutes, which,' I believe, is about as fast as any stock, car, carrying two passengers, full equipment and 250 pounds of baggage, has ever made. The important thing, however, in my judgment is the wonderful endurance performance put up by the Super-Six throughout the entire trip. No piece of road stopped us anywhere and the manner in which the motor of the car settled to a long, even pull is most remarkable. remark-able. It is decidedly unusual (o take a new car from the factory and put it through 4000 miles of tran-continental tran-continental driving in the time we did and return home with so few and such minor adjustments on the cur as a leaky radiator, the necessity neces-sity of tightening the fan belt and the few minutes consumed in adjusting ad-justing the valve lifters. I can only say that in all my experience of driving and handling automobiles I have never seen any car put -up so splendid a performance perform-ance as the Super-Six in which Mrs. Botterill and myself have just toured across the continent. Inasmuch as Mr. Botterill has undoubtedly un-doubtedly set a new record for speed in driving from Denver to Salt Lake in twenty hours and five minutes, the details of the drive will probably prove extremely interesting to thousands of motor car owners and these details are reproduced below: Driving Time from Denver.
