Show SALT LAKE WOMEN PLAN FLYLESS CITY Proprietors of Provision Stores Cooperate Co-operate With Housewives' League in Rendering Places Sanitary. "A flyless citj-" is the plan and purpose of the Housewives' league, whii-h has fifty active members and is working zealously under the direction of Mrs. C. Raliber, president of the leajrue, and Mrs. P. N. Cook of the city board of health. Mrs. Cook said yesterday that Mrs. Rahber and herself had visited twenty downtown places of business Friday and that she had visited eight yesterday, aud that in onlv one instance was there manifest a lack of support and encouragement encour-agement of the league's plans. Tho city will install ten of the largest size of the government fly traps in advantageous points in the downtown district. All proprietors of stores where meats, groceries, fruits aud perishable supplies are sold are being asked to aid in the "flyless" campaign. The Housewives' league is sending out circular letters for all who desire to enter the contest, which comprises a certificate of inspection to be signed by the owner or operator of the premises, prem-ises, to the effect that at the time of inspection, July 15 and the fifteenth fif-teenth day of the four ensuing months, no flies were found or seen on the interior in-terior of the premises. A representative of the league will accompany the owner own-er or occupant of the premises and countersign coun-tersign the certificate. An accurate record of the reports will be kept and suitable trophies awarded by the league at the conclusion of the campaign. |
