Show CADILLAC WINNER OF MOUNTAIN RACE Harold Brinker Drives Auto Into Laramie Ahead of Large Field. According to a telegram received here bv the Sharmau Automobile company, the Cadillac automobile has annexed more honors. This time the honor came by way of winning a road race from Denver to Laramie, a distance of 132 miles, which the Cadillac covered in two hours, fifty -five minute? and ten seconds, at an average rate of speed of fortv miles an hour. The Cadillac car was driven by liar-old liar-old Brinker. The nearest competitor to him was eighteen minutes in his rear. In bringing the average miles per hour up to fortv, Brinker smashed the former Denver-Laramie record by seven sev-en miles. The old time was placed at thirty-three miles an hour. This is a remarkable record in light of the fact that the Denver-Laramie hike is on anything any-thing but beautiful roads, there being a number of grades and bad places alona the way. |
