"Say," said the oil philosopher, "it is simply a wonder the immense demand there is for automobile .mechanics. J. R. Hall of the Utah Oil Refining com pany, who is handling the employment bureau, tells me that he can place ten mechanics in a little less than no time. "There is no charge made to either party and to say that it is successful is puttimg jt- mildly. Hal says that he has inquiries for mechanics from a dozen doz-en places in Utah and Idaho and is mighty short of material. "It wouldn't be at all a bad idea for automobile labor of all kinds to got in touch with Mr. Hall, for if they are figuring on a change he ia the one man who can best help them. ' ' In the past week twentyone positions posi-tions were filled, these included mechanics, mechan-ics, delivery drivers and truck drivers. Of this number tliTee were filled in Nevada, Ne-vada, where there seems to exist a big demand for high-priced labor. "With the ever increasing number of automobiles in this territory it will soon (be necessary for some energetic person to Open a schpol for auto mechanics, as at the present time, they are as scarce as hen's teeth. It looks to me as though there waa a fine opportunity for a live wire in this direction. On the coast there are any number of them, and so far as I can ascertain they are all operating oper-ating successfully. Why the deuce can't we have one hero? "The Utah Oil Refining company,' makers and distributors ot Vico motor lubricants, through its employment bureau, bu-reau, can place almost any number turned out. "Now, you mechanics don't forget that you can be placed if you file your ; name' with the Utah Oil Refining 'Company." 'Com-pany." - |
