considerable outlay and additional expense VEINS AND STOPES r l During the past year the character and extent of the ore veins have been fairly well demonstrated They are three In number a copper vein alto sarrylng lead being contact between the porphyry dyke and the lime a sit verleadsliiCfVeln being the main vein thus far worked which Is I a fissure in the lime standing almost vertical the apex of which makes out Into the beds of lime however a distance of about 100 feet from the fissure The average size of the ore bodies In this vein thus far developed have been about fourteen feet in thickness along a continuous fissure the thinnest point being about twentyfour Inches and the heaviest part thus far encountered being about thirtyfour feet between walls Much of the ttork dne has been In the way of development leaving very large ore reserves ready for stoping The timbering tim-bering has been by l square sets In a permanent per-manent and substantial manner throughout The values in this vein have thus far averaged about 20 percent per-cent lead eighteen ounces silver and 32 per cent zinc to the ton with a trace of gold sometimes running as high as 5150 The other vein thus far developed Is an Intermediate one A fissure of apparently ap-parently subsequent formation to the other two and between them Tills vein Is I a copper vein averaging about eighteen Inches In thickness and carrying car-rying about per cent copper and twelve ounces of silver to the ton THIS I OUTPUT The output of concentrates during the prst year has been 1400 tons netting 535000 besides which two carloads of crude ore and I a carload of copper has been marketed lding good returns v MINEEQuJpMENT The mine equipment and Improvements Improve-ments consist of a boardinghouse bunKhouse blacksmith and carpenter shop and tunnelhouse and magazines At aggregate cost of about 53500 The cars tools supplies nnd timbers on hand amount about the came value besides which have been laid during the year in the tunnels dulfts and slopes nearly a half a mile m steel rails of eight and twelve IOUfllieIgIlt There are supplies of timber powder and can dies on hand to last the next eight I monthsTHE THE MILL EQUIPMENTS S 1 ll M4 Tile mill cquipmept Is I a most complete com-plete modern uplodate concentrating plant consisting of a 100ton capacity Blake usher a 100ton capacity Cornish Cor-nish rools with screens and sizing box cs four jigs and eight Wilflcy lables which together with elevators and a Huntington mill make a very complete equipment Thowliqlc Is run by a 10 horsepower Nagle engine and a 25 horsepower Eric engine better results being obtained by running the tables and Jigs with one engine and the crusher crush-er rolls and the alxtyton Huntington mill with the other The boiler capacity consists of two tubular locomotive boilers boil-ers covered with asbestos with an aggregate ag-gregate capacity of SO horsepower Besides Be-sides these there are the necessary feed pumps heater and pump to handle the water a portion of which Is received In a tank from the Comstock and elevated ele-vated to a i tank at the top of the mill from which It isdistrlbbted i by gravitation gravita-tion The entlrerjTillliequfpmelit cost about 35000 andTth Insth ilzition having1 been by additions from limo to time has delayed jJontfrntiony about one fourth of the time Thc on hand Several propositions have been made to purchase them from which the conclusion conclu-sion is easily reached that they will be marketed at IL satisfactory profit during dur-ing the coming year THE PIJTLOOK Thc mine isnp openccUartdconsid crable ore reserves developed The best modes of saving values have been ascertained and provided for and it Is confidently expected that the tlrst eight months of the year will put It out of debt and place It on a dividendpay ing basis I |
