been for many years and still is the largest and most powerful club not only of Salt Lake City but at Utah Twentyfive years ago It wag organized and year by year has gained In numbers and prestige and today holds an enviable position In tho literary lit-erary world of the State Meetings arcs held on the second fourth and fifth Fridays of each month In the beautiful clubhouse which was erected some few years since and Is now almost free from debt Section meetings are held at intervals during the month permitting permit-ting the members attendance at two or more of the sections Through the home and education section the Ladles Literary club has done much to advance the cause of art rone In the public schools and last winter held an art exhibit In the clubrooms from the proceeds of which two model schoolrooms were fitted up In Salt Lake City one at the Webster the other at the Jackson school both oC which contain a number of beautiful pictures and casts and are n source of delight and education to the students of the schools I is the Intention oC the club to furnish other model schoolrooms school-rooms In the city as soon as possible Through the same section which Is tho practical section of the club much has praclcal secton been done to Interest people In securing secur-ing the enforcement of sanjtary laws In securing the early closing of stores to advance the cause of the free kindergarten kin-dergarten and the free traveling library libra-ry and now it Is the purpose of the members to take up the cause of the Consumers league which has been agitated among the
