Show BEAR RIVER DUCK CLUB t t J r v I u SdA 5 I k d 1 The Bear River Duck club now known as the hunters homels sad to be the best in the world The club building was erected at a cost of 520000 and 1urnlshed There Is an electric light plant In connection with the building and every provision has been made for the comfort of Its members The membership Is limited to 100 and there Is no prospect of an increase In Its membership John T Kendall o Salt Lake Is president of the club John N Foster of Denver vicepresident and Jay T Harris of Salt Lake secretary sec-retary and treasurer The past duck season was the first year of the clubs existence and the members killed over 12000 ducks or an average o 120 duclcs per member during dur-ing the season Out of season the club protects all game within Us jurisdiction juris-diction and President Kendall states that next year the result of this protection pro-tection will be double the number of ducks iin that locality The clubhouse Is located on the Bear river A raised platform extends from the porch to tho river a distance of about forty feet to which the boats are brought The club has a twelve horsepower naphtha launch which has a speeding power of fourteen miles an hour Following the course of the river It Is twentyseven miles to the hunting grounds which trip Is greatly enjoyed by all who take It The club Is I only open to Its members and is promoted pro-moted for the pleasure of those who are In It |
