Show LHS student takes top honors The Bountiful-Davis Art Center and Key Bank have awarded top honors to Jennifer Banks, a senior at Layton High School, for her entry en-try in a competition for design of announcement for the upcoming Davis County High School Students Stu-dents Art Exhibit. Jennifer's entry, "Explore," will title the exhibit and be reproduced and mailed out to patrons throughout through-out Utah as an invitation to the opening reception for the show to be displayed at the BDAC, 2175 S. Main, Bountiful, March 6-18. Key Bank's North Salt Lake Branch will award her a $50 U.S. Savings Bond. This year's competition drew 95 entries from high school students throughout Davis County. Also given awards of merit for their entries: en-tries: Trevor Wood, Woods Cross High School for "Statement"; Bee Thao, Layton High School for "Expression"; and Melanie Man-full, Man-full, Bountiful High School for "Directions." The opening reception for the exhibit, ex-hibit, which will feature works by high school students throughout ' Davis County, will be held Sunday, March 6 from 2-5 p.m. Musical entertainment en-tertainment will be provided by Trio Con Brio; refreshments from Woods Cross High School Occupational Occupa-tional Foods Department. The public pub-lic is invited to attend. Admission is free. The Bountiful-Davis Art Center is a public, non-profit arts organization organiza-tion serving Davis County and the state. Gallery hours are: Sunday 2-5 2-5 p.m., Monday 5-9 p.m., Tuesday thru Friday 10 a.m. -5 p.m. Exhibits are free. |
