Show Oakes-Child wed in SL Linnea Oakes and Clinton D. Child were married Dec. 12 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple by Nick J. Teerlink, a relative of the groom. The couple was honored at a wedding breakfast at the Red Flame and a reception at the Canterbury Can-terbury Reception Center. The bride is the daughter of Royal E. and Lois Oakes of 20 S. 750 E., Bountiful. Parents of the groom are Eugene A. and Arvilla Child of 209 E. 2200 S., Bountiful. The bride wore a gown of taffeta and lace with a Queen Anne neckline neck-line and leg-o-mutton sleeves, bodice featured Venice lace and pearls and sequins. Her bouquet was of red roses, stephanotis and baby breath. Mrs. Sherry W. Peck was maid of honor. She wore a navy blue crepe dress with white lace collar and carried a bouquet of red roses and baby breath. Mothers of the couple wore Navy blue dresses. Best man duties were performed by Jim Child and Tom Child, brothers of the groom. Out of town guests included Mrs. Marsha Clark, sister of the bride and children from Joplin, Mo.; Mr. and Mrs. David Oakes and Kathryn, brother and sister-in-law and niece of the bride, from Ridgefield, Conn.; Mr. and Mrs. Brandt Child, uncle and aunt of groom from Kanab. Prenuptial parties were given by , MR. AND MRS. CLINTON D. CHILD Mrs. Charles Forbes, Mrs. Susan Ynchausti, Jana Johnson, Mrs. Stanley Johnson, Mrs. Jim Child, Debbie Sisneros, Kathi Scholling-sberg, Scholling-sberg, Mrs. Tom Child, Mrs. George Merrill, Mrs. Dm Rigby, Kasy Savage, Patrice Merrill, Mrs. Russell Nichols, Mrs. Anna Ohrn, and Mrs. John Walton. The bride has attended View-mont View-mont High and Ricks College and will graduate from Weber in 1989 in elementary education. The groom has attended Bountiful Bounti-ful High and is majoring in business management at Weber State College. Col-lege. He filled an LDS Auckland, New Zealand LDS Mission. After a honeymoon to Anaheim, Calif., they are making their home in Ogden. |
