Bountiful Elementary recently completed a very successful "Dragon "Dra-gon Read-a-thon." Students earned scales for the dragon's tail by reading. The dragon's tail grew to be more than 2,000 feet long. Classes competed com-peted against each other on grade level for prizes. Finally, seven children were s chosen from among the most consistent con-sistent readers to become "principal "princip-al for an hour." They were Rebe-kah Rebe-kah Youngs, Jason Cosby, Ryan Huff, Scott Sellers, Willow Pearson, Pear-son, Richard Counter, and Melissa Roderick. Each one had a chance to monitor the halls, inspect the facilities, facili-ties, and make an announcement to the school while they were "prin cipal." Velda Morrow, the (real) principal princip-al at Bountiful Elementary, had the opportunity to trade places with these children in all seven classes. She found herself involved in everything ev-erything from buddy reading to dodge ball. I It was a great experience experi-ence for everyone. |
