Show Brave Rave: Best of luck By MATT REED If you've looked out your window win-dow lately (which you shouldn't be doing you should always pay close attention in class) you may have noticed that the sun is shining an awful lot. This could mean that spring is on the way, so you'd better bet-ter get prepared. You wouldn't want to be caught out on a sunny day without your shorts! Thinking of girls in shorts reminds re-minds me of the terrific cheerleaders cheerlead-ers we have here at Bountiful, and I will be sorry to see them leave for Florida tomorrow (the 25th). In Florida, they will compete against about 70 other all-girl squads, with the hopes of being one of those showcased on ESPN TV. If they make it past preliminaries on Saturday, they will compete again on Sunday for a chance to travel to Japan for an exhibition trip. Good luck! If you have a love of music, you will want to be sure and attend the Jazz Ensemble next Wednesday night. It will take place at 6 p.m. and is in the Woods Cross High auditorium. The rest of this week looks pretty pret-ty clear, but before I go on to next week, I need to apologize for the stomp that was cancelled last Friday Fri-day night. If you go to BHS you hopefully heard this announcement announce-ment over the intercom or from your friends. There was a conflict with the state basketball tournament tourna-ment schedule, so we had to postpone post-pone our stomp. I will be sure and tell you about it when we know more. Now, looking forward to next week, we find ourselves in the girls' basketball state tournament. The team has worked hard all year, and they hope to see the reward of their efforts as they compete against other top teams from the state. March 1 and 2 marks the annual Pop's Concert put on by the choral department at BHS, under the direction of Sheri Cole. This will be an enjoyable night of song and dance, and you will not be disappointed dis-appointed if you go. All of the music that will be performed will come from Broadway musicals, and you will feel just like you got off the subway in New York City. Last week several athletes from Bountiful went to Idaho State University Uni-versity to compete in the Simplot Games. They have been training for weeks to be ready for these races, and they had a good showing as they conipeitu M6uiuj other athletes from all over the western states. In case you haven't heard yet, or in case there is any doubt in your mind, the BHS Senate Girls' Dance will be held March 5 in the girls' gym. The dance is based on "Hurray for Hollywood," and we encourage everyone to dress accordingly (dress like a movie character). Tickets are $8 and pictures pic-tures will be available for $7 at the dance. That does it for another week in the lives of the Bountiful High stu-dentbody, stu-dentbody, and I hope you enjoyed hearing about it. |
