Show 'Rusty' Egbert, Sr. KAYSVILLE Ira J. "Rusty" Egbert, Sr., 73, of 27 W. Mutton Hollow Road, died Saturday, Feb. 13, 1988 at St. Benedict's Hospital in Ogden of heart failure. He was born Aug. 28, 1914 in Fairview, Ida., a son of James M. and Mary Elizabeth Jones Egbert. He married Bernice Rigby May 17, 1935 in Logan. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He had resided in Kaysville for the past 65 years. He was an active member of the Kaysville 20th LDS Ward. He had served as counselor to three different diffe-rent bishoprics. He was instrumental in organizing organiz-ing the Mutton Hollow Improvement Improve-ment District and served as president presi-dent for 18 years. He served on the board of directors of the Davis Farm Co-op. He was an active officer of the Holmes Creek Irrigation Irriga-tion Company for over 31 years. He had been a farmer for several years and was a school bus driver for 27 years. He had owned and operated his own trucking business. busi-ness. Surviving are his wife of Kaysville, Kays-ville, two sons and one daughter, Ira J. Egbert, Jr., Bountiful, Bonny Lynn Soltys, Kaysville; Blaine Egbert, Salt Lake City; four grand-daughters grand-daughters and three greatgrandchildren. great-grandchildren. Also surviving are one brother and one sister, Mack Egbert, Kaysville; Mrs. Roy (Thelma) Ware, Preston, Ida. He was preceded in death by three brothers, three sisters and one grandchild. Funeral directors, Lindquist's Kaysville Mortuary. Bishop Kenneth Cloward officiated offici-ated at funeral services held Feb. 16. Family prayer was offered by Max Rigby; prelude, Maxine Richins and Paula Fawcett; "How Great Thou Art" by Wayne Wine-gar Wine-gar accompanied by Paula Fawcett; Faw-cett; invocation, Gary Card; remarks, Bishop; Kenneth Cloward; Clo-ward; speakers, Lynn Soltys and Eldean Holliday; musical medley, Maxine Richins and Paula Fawcett; Faw-cett; benediction, Bill Johnson. Dedication of the grave was by Norman Allen with interment in the Kaysville City Cemetery. Pallbearers were Hal Rigby, Kevin Rigby, Brian Shields, Ron Rigby, Ralph McQuiston and Dick Egbert. Honorary pallbearers were Roy Ware, Gary Egbert, Roger Rigby, Tom Sparkes and Bob Burton. |
