Show Crime Solvers Murray City fire investigators are searching for suspects responsible re-sponsible for a blaze at a tire recycling plant last Dec. 20. Professional Retreaders, located at 145 W. 4500 S., Murray, was broken into that evening. After forcing their way into the building through a side door, the suspects knocked over stacks of tires. The gas and brake lines of a truck parked inside the shop were cut. Brake fluid and gasoline spilled onto the floor. Tires were then shoved underneath the vehicle and lined up in a row leading to a wooden pallet 30 feet away. This line was then covered with gasoline and motor oil. Other machinery in the building was also surrounded by tires with a trail of fuel and tires leading to the same pallet. The gasoline soaked pallet was then set on fire and the suspects sus-pects fled the building. The fire, which the suspects hoped would travel to the truck and machinery, was stopped by an overhead sprinkler system within minutes, the arsonists' plan had failed. r |
