Show Robert Devereaux Fredrick Robert Devereaux, 56, died Feb. 16, 1988 following a massive mas-sive stroke. Born in Bountiful Sept. 4, 1931 ' to Ulyses L. and Jessie Faye Gregory Greg-ory Devereaux. Married Ida Casper Cas-per March 20, 1948; solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. At the age of 15 Bob went to r work for Phillips Petroleum in their Idaho refinery. During the next 41 j years, through his great abilities ? and hard work he proved to be one I of the company's most valued and ; trusted employees. This was 1 shown by his responsible position of night superintendent of the Woods Cross operation. Bob's mastery in all phases of oil refining was called upon in starting' refineries in Texas City, South Africa, Australia, France and Brazil. In 1962 he was given a special detail to assist in setting up an alky- lation plant in an unproven area. His efforts were largely responsi-ble responsi-ble for the success of a process that J now operates worldwide. . From 1956-76 Bob was active in the South Davis County's fire department. de-partment. His direct participation was responsible in the saving of several lives and large amounts of property. During this period he served as fireman, ambulance crewman, captain and assistant chief. He enjoyed traveling, fishing and camping and his ranch. Surviving are his wife, children and three spouses, Cathy and Michael Larsen, Fred and Debbie, Terry and Annie, Sue and Michael Demas, Brad and Penny, Sharrae and John Simmonds, Steve and ' Denise and 18 grandchildren; a sis- i ter, Mrs. Dale (Marjorie) Ashton; I brother and wife James and ';. Annette. Services were held Saturday, Feb. 20 with interment in the Bountiful Boun-tiful City Cemetery. Pallbearers were James Devereaux, De-vereaux, Terry Devereaux, John Simmonds, Fred Devereaux, Brad Devereaux, Michael Larsen, Steve Devereaux and Michael Demas. Honorary pallbearers were Dale Ashton, Randy Devereaux, Mike Devereaux, John Casper, Dale Putnam and J.B, Hdbropk. |
