Show Cat Chat: Athletes By JOANNA MOODY Hey Wildcats! Yes, it's true, it's now time for you to sit down, grab the popcorn and read about your favorite high school. So. ..let's chat! We are so very proud of our fine athletes here at WX. Our boys' basketball team and our wrestlers are awesome. Our girls' basketball team is still undefeated and our girls will travel to state on March 1-5. Good luck lady Wildcats! Our Junior varsity basketball team lost only one game and our swimmers came out at 2nd place at state. They're all great! Can you believe that we're getting get-ting into the month of March? A mere three months left of school. Imagine that! March is the month that comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb, but get excited be cause March is at so known as "The Homeowner's Month." It's time to put the snow shovel away and yet It's too early for the lawnmower. Enjoy! (It's just trivia.) Keep in mind that Olympics at Woods Cross High are coming up on March 4 as well as a stomp that evening. Also on March 4 the films are due for the second annual Film Festival. We expect some Hollywood-type material so be sure and get into action. It will be terrific! Our student of the week happens to be the adventurous and illustrious illust-rious Tyler Hanson. He is well-rounded well-rounded in his choice of classes including in-cluding concurrent college enrollment enroll-ment in U.S. history, A. P. European Euro-pean history, gym, A. P. English, ceramics and seminary. Tyler is a member of the WX Senate, a member of the "Health Thinks" club and is president of the Terrain-Surfing Club (otherwise (other-wise known as the Boarding Club). He loves to skate, snowboard, write stuff and collect rare albums. He recently took second place out of 250 in a skateboarding competition. competi-tion. Tyler's dreams in life are to be as eloquent as Heath Selin and also to be rear-ended by Kara Gillespie in an intersection. He would also like to be fluent in six or more Asiatic languages. Tyler likes Woods Cross (1) "because at WX even if you don't do the same thing as everybody ev-erybody else, people, for the most part, don't look down on you" and (2) because Mrs. Hodgson teaches here. Tyler is a fantastic person and I am kidding no one when I say that he can be summed up in the word, "Wow"! He's a dude. Have a nice week! |
