Show OLD-TIMERS WINNER OYER SAINT SECONDS Western Arms and Telegrams Tele-grams Are Also Victors. Three fast games were played last night in the Commercial Basketball leagrue, and much improvement was shown over the games in the Initial series last Saturday. In the first contest the L. D. S. U. seconds were defeated by the Old Timers of the Deseret gym, 37 to 30. The Deseret seniors sen-iors fell before the Telegram five. 33 to 23, while in the flnel wlndup the Western Arms quint was victorious over the Dundee Dun-dee squad, 42 to 30. The contest with the L. D. S. U. seconds sec-onds and Old Timers was the best game' of the evening. Both sides showed much fight and a number of personal fouls were called. Bob Richardson of the Old Timers and Bryan West ,of the L. D. S. U. were both placed out with four personals, per-sonals, but after a short conflab were allowed to return and fouls of the personal per-sonal variety were scarce from thence on. Lund proved to be the best shooter in this struggle, with seven field goals, while Haymond and West of the L. D. S. U. niad four each. The Telegram five showed a vast improvement im-provement over their appearance in the first game and were at no time in danger of being forced from the lead by the Deseret seniors. Both sides played a fast game and showed skill at caging the sphere. Leaver and Sproul shared the high honors in this game. The Western Arms-Dundee game was a rather listless affair. The Western Arms men came forth at the first with a number of goals which gave them a comfortable lead that the Dundee boys were unable to overcome. In the second half the Western Arms squad started out slowly and the Dundee men succeeded in partially partial-ly closing the gap, but the Western Arms came back in time to prevent the Dun-dees Dun-dees from taking the lead. The winners were without the services of Evan Taylor and Miller, but had Les Greenwood and Milt Chlpman, both of whom made a good showing. Joe Williams and Tom Fitz-patrlck Fitz-patrlck also played well. For the Dun-dees, Dun-dees, Sperry, at center, starred. The Eldredge-Hatch-Lucas game was forfeited to the Lucas team, as their opponents op-ponents had only three men. The lineup and summary: L. D. S. U. SECONDS (30). Fd.G. Fl'.T. Fl.G. T.P.
