Show GENERAL MURGUIA QUITS JUAREZ FOR CASAS GRANDES JUAREZ, Jan. 27. Guarded by a detachment de-tachment of de facto troops, a refugee train left Casas Grandes late today for the border, carrying more than 500 Mexican, American and Chinese refugees refu-gees from tho zone which is being evacuated evac-uated by the American troops. The train is scheduled to arrive here early tomorrow morning. The crowds of refugees at the station sta-tion in Casas Grandes wore unable to find room on the Mexico Northwestern train and were forced to accompany the expeditionary forces from Colonia "Dublan "Dub-lan or await another train. General Jose Santos Murguia, who left Juarez today for Casas Grandes, will reorganize tne Carranza troops in that district to occupy the places evacuated evacu-ated by the American forces. However he has only a comparatively small number num-ber of troops in western Chihuahua and, unless the reinforcements arrive soon from Chihuahua City overland the Villa followers are expected to occupy oc-cupy the greater part of the territory abandoned by the Americans. Villa forces were reported late today in the vicinity of Casas Grandes, and Villa himself was said by local partisans par-tisans to have abandoned his campaign aeainst General Francisco Murguia and to have moved northward into the former for-mer zone of American operations with a large body of men. Passengers ariving here today from Chihuahua City Tcported having seen fifty Villistas going toward El Valle from the vicinity of Carrizal. They were driving a herd of horses ahead of them. |
