Show Expect to Find Jackson's Ho!e Rancher Frozen Moritz Locher Disappears, Leaving Note in Cabin; Dog Gives Alarm. Special to The Tribune. KEMMEKER, Wvo., Jan. 27. The report has come in from the Jackson Hole country, in the northern end of this county, that Moritz Locher, a hermit rancher whose cabin is situated near Jennev 's lake, is thought to be frozen to death. A number num-ber of neighbors have been searching for him for several davs. Tho fear that all was not well at Locher 's cabin was first entertained when tho rancher 's dog appeared at the Bar-Bx-C ranch in a starving condition. An investigation partv immediately went to the secluded cabin, where they found a note, dated January 2, in which Locher stated that he would be absent over night. A thorough search was immediately im-mediately begun. Owing to the fact that a big snowstorm ocurred in that section immediately after Locher 's departure de-parture from his cabin, no trace of the missing man has as yet been found. It is thought by many that ha may have fallen through the ice while crossing cross-ing over a small creek near his place. This theory was advanced when the doe was noticed by the searchers to act queerly while near a certain bank of tbo creek. |
