Show EUREKA TO HAVE NEW POSTOFFICE Special to The Tribune. EUREKA, Jan. 27. From correspondence correspon-dence which has been exchanged during the past few days between tho first assistant postmaster general and Postmaster Post-master T. L. Sullivan of this city, it is quite evident that the postal authorities at Washington have not forgotten the appropriation for a federal building In Eureka. It is also apparent that preparations prepa-rations are beiujr made for the erection of the building early in the spring. A few days aL'o blanks wero received at the local office which are to be filled in and forwarded to "Washington. showing the revenue for the past ten years. The receipts for the fiscal year will be far in exceBs of $3000, which ib the sura needod to place Eureka among the cities of the state having offices of the second class, and PostL master Sullivan is naturaUy proud of the record. The postal department has also asked for information regarding the help employed, em-ployed, salaries paid and an estimate on the business for the next ten years. This information will enable the government gov-ernment officials to complete tneir plans for the new federal building, which will Jbe located on upper Main street, and for which the sum of $55,000 has already been appropriated. |
