Some time apro it was decided to replace them with Iron coins. Several million. iron one, two And five-pfennig pieces were coined, but the experiment did not prove successful, because be-cause the iron "pennies" were too heavy. The federal treasury! now announces that a larpe number or aluminum coins will be Issued. The new pieces which will shortlv be put into circulation are a little smaller than the old coppers and. of oourse. much llghterl Six hundred of them only welg-h an American pound.
