Show Coffee Futures. NEW TORK, Jan. 27. The market for coffee futures was more active today, with prices advancing on the more cheerful cheer-ful view of peace possibilities. Otherwise there was nothing in the news that was particularly emphasized around the ring, but buying was probably -encouraged by reports of continued steadiness on the part of Brazilian shippers. Trading was quiet at the start with prices unchanged to 2 points higher, but the demand improved im-proved later in the morning, with Wail street houses among the buvers. May sold up to S.67c and September to 8.81c, with the market closing at a net advance of 10 to 15 points. Sales, estimated at 25.500 bags. Closing bids: January. S.50c; Februarv. 8.51c; March. 8.55c; April, S.60c; May, S.66c; June, 8.G9c; July. 8.73c; Au-inist, Au-inist, 8.76c; September. S.SOc: October, S.S3c; November. 8.35c; December. S.90c. Xo fresh offers were reported in the coat and freight market, but a &ale of well-described Santos 3s was said to have been made at' 10.75d, London credits, for prompt shlpfenent on a neutral steamer. , The official cables reported no change In the Rio market.
