Show ELKS OF ELY ARE ! TO VISIT OGDEN J Specif to The Tribune. ELY, Xev., Jan. 27. At a meeting held in the city hall last night, which was largely attended Joy members of the B. P. 0. E. and business men generally, and presided over by Mayor A. B. Witcher, it was decided to arrange for a special excursion to Ogden, leaving YAy at 10 o'clock on the night of February Febru-ary 16, so as to arrive in Ogden in time to" visit the city and attend the initia-' initia-' tion ceremonies in the Elks lodge, which j will bo held on the night of Febru-i Febru-i ary 17. About forty new members from i McGill, which is under tho jurisdiction I of the Ogden lodge, will .join the order. ! Many business men will join in the ex-I ex-I cursion and accept the invitation which j lias been extended by the Weber club i to spend a few days as the guests of the ! business men of Ogden. A committee, j consisting of Albert Scow-croft, W. II. j "Williams. Gus Wright, W. G. Wilson, ; P. F. Kirkendall and T. F. Rowlands ' of Ogden. arrived here tonight, where ; they were joined by J. M. Fulton, assistant assist-ant general freight and passenger agent of the Southern Pacific company, with L headquarters at Reno. Colonel L. G. siuiinin, general manager of the Nevada itatm railwav, was present at the 1 mooting, and after some discussion it was decided to engage a special train of Pullman cars, arrangements for which the railroad officials agreed to make on tho most advantageous terms possible. T'pon arriving in Ogden the Elks and business men from this section will be i shown about the city in automobiles, ' and elaborate preparations have been made for the reception. It is under-j under-j stood that not less than 125 people will j take advantage of this excursion, and as special committees have been ap-' ap-' pointed at Ely, McGill and Ruth for the occasion, it is believed that many in i excess of the number stated will Jbe in f attendance. |
