Monday evening Mr. Goates was the guest of honor at Saratoga at a party given by M. rt. Iott and J. M. Kirkham. Motor parties, in which seventy-live persons participated, spent the evening bathing and boating there. In appreciation of Mr. Goates's services in tho city council his fellow officers entertained enter-tained in tho Commercial club rooms Tuesday evening. Those present were leo Goiites, Mrs. Annie Goatee. Miss Zina I-arkin of Ogden, Mrs. William Worlton, Mavor and Mrs. Sidney Gilchrist, Judge and Mrs. J. P. Thurrnan, Mr. and Mrs. A. L. The marriage of Ella Wood, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Wood, and E. J. Randall Ran-dall of Salt Lake City took place at the Wood residence at noon Monday. After a prettily appointed wedding breakfast 1 the couple left for a honeymoon to Yel-I Yel-I lowstone park. Mr. and Mrs. M. S. Mrs. Whltlock, who, has charge of the knitting department depart-ment of the local Red Cross, entertained the ladies of the knitting circle at the Trinity church parlors Saturday afternoon after-noon of last week. The nature of the entertainment was a contest to And the swiftest and surest knitter. The first prize was won by Mrs. Axil Birch; second sec-ond prize, Mrs. Willis I. Johnson, ana third prize, Mrs. Jorgenson. A delightful delight-ful musical program, was rendered. Luncheon was served to twenty-five. They were entertained enter-tained in the City drug store parlor after the business was completed. The Roosevelt unit of the Duchesne chapter of the Red Cross has sent recently re-cently to the Denver headquarters a box containing the following finished Red Cross articles: One hundred and eighty bed socks, thirty-five bed shirts, twenty-five twenty-five pajama suits and fifty-two pairs ot knitted socks. Another box will follow shortly. , . Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Williams entertained at a picnic party on the Uintah river Thursday. Those present were Mr. and Mrs P C Bingham, Mr. and Mrs. William Wil-liam Bingham, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bingham, Mr. and Mrs. Le Roy Goodrich, Mr and Mrs. T. C. The ladles of the Thimhle club served luncheon to the picnickers at Roosevelt park Friday of last week. The proceeds, which were considerable, are for ttie benefit of the Rod Cross.
