Show THANKS RED CROSS AND ITS WAR WORK Telling of suffering from an attack of Spanish fever while serving with the American army in France, Lieutenant Pred . Boyd has written to his parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Boyd, of 1033 Third avenue. To the splendid care and attention given him in a Bed Gross hospital he attributes his full recov-erv. recov-erv. Lieutenant Boyd enlisted in May, 1917, less than a month after the entry en-try of the United States into the war. He spent three months at the officers' training school at the Presidio, Cal., and won a commission as second lieutenant. lieu-tenant. From the Presidio he went to American Lake for three months of training, and last December went to New York, from ijhich port he embarked em-barked December 24 for an English port, where he landed January 1. Two. mouths were spent in training for the motor transportation service in France. Concluding his letter. Lieutenant Boyd savs: "A year ago I was on the range at the Presidio: a year hence I hope to be in charge of motor transportation trans-portation into Berlin." |
