Show NAVAL ARCHITECT 1 DIES IN OAKLAND' OAKLAND, Cat., Aug. 17. George W. Dickie, one of the most noted naval architects archi-tects and marine engineers of America, builder of the famous warship Oregon, died at his home here, last night after a brief illness. Tie was 74 years old and had been the personal representative of the United States shipping board and emergency fleet corporation at the Moore-Scott Moore-Scott Shipbuilding company since the government gov-ernment entered upon its shipbuilding! program. |
