Show CAVALRY REGIMENTS TO BE REORGANIZED Lender an order that has just been issued is-sued by the war department, the fifteen regiments of cavalry, national army, which have been organized in various posts of the country, are to be reorganized reorgan-ized into thirty regiments of field artillery, artil-lery, one brigade of which will be trained at Camp Kearny, Cal. One of the cavalry organizations was formed at Fort D. aL Russell, Wyoming, and is now stationed there. According to the war department order, each cavalry retriment will be split, and the men end officers thus divided will be used as the nucleus for forming two regiments of field artillery. The full quota of men for the artillery oreanizations will be furnished by draft and transfer from other organizations, organ-izations, it is stated. Colonels now in command of the cavalry organizations will have the option of transferring to other cavalry organizations with their same rank, or of going into the field artillery bi-anch with such ranks as may be assigned as-signed them, it is reported. |
