A letter was received recently by the Helen Cox Thrift society .of Salt Lake that expresses the gratitude of a French mother that her little daughter, through Its beneficence, will be able to remain in her home and be trained in the schools of her own faith. The girl, Claire Xaviere, was adopted some time ago by tlie local charity organization and has been receiving from that source a stipend of $9 a month for her maintenance. Madame G. Xaviere, the mother, wrote a letter of thanks to Mrs. Cox and sent a photograph of the adopted child. The letter follows: I have received the order for $9 which the Association of American Fraternity of Paris has addressed to me.' I am going also, in behalf of my daughter, to thank you greatly for the gift that you have been kind enough to give her, and she will never forget her benefactress, for with your help I will be able to have her continue at school, as 1 hope the future will be better than the past. Besides, you will find inclosed the picture of my daughter (Claire), which I hope wili please you. I profit by this letter to tell you that your god-child will make her first communion the 15th of August. By the same mail you will receive a letter from her. Let me again thank you again and accept my best wishes. I am your humble friend. MADAME G. XAVIERE, Propriano, Corse. |
