Show GUARD RECRUITING 1IKJMII The opening week of the campaign to recruit the national guard of Utah, First infantry, up to its full strength of 1500 men) under the proclamation issued by Governor Bamberger, was most satisfactory, satisfac-tory, according to Captain Fred Jorgen-sen, Jorgen-sen, in charge of the campaign. Plans have been made for even more extended activity throughout the state the coming week. The permanent offices in Salt Lake City will be maintained and the Ogden office will also be open. The recruiting in this city wiil be extended ex-tended so that the workers In department depart-ment stores and the larger shops may have a recruiting officer address them before or after working hours or for a brief time at luncheon. Several requests of this kind were filled the past week and resulted in adding a considerable number to the roster. A special drive will be instituted later at Ogden, Logan and Brigham City. Mil-ford Mil-ford and Delta are insisting upon having a unit, Davis county is in line for two units, Ephraim has appointed its own organization or-ganization committee, while Murray already al-ready has the nucleus of a company. The recruiting officers tonight will visit Bountiful to address a meeting there.
