With baseball players of national promi- j aence reporting; daily, the Twin Porta-Mesaba Porta-Mesaba leaguo of four clubs is now assuming class A proportions and fans liviDg at the heads of the lakes are contemplating historic contests during August and September. Managers of the clubs have pointed out two facts, in order to correct sa erroneous impression which seems to exist. The clubs are not backed by millionaires and the players who signed contracts bad previously been informed' that their services were not desired, unless un-less they proved capable workers wh not wearing their uniforms. Hewitt, utility; Cash-ion, Cash-ion, first base; Carl Sawyer, second base; Rondt.au, outfielder, and Burg-wall, Burg-wall, third base, ail from the Minneapolis Minneap-olis club; Harry Holland, Northern league, shortstop. Hibbing Palmero, New York Nationals; Na-tionals; Dave Altizer and Owens, Minneapolis. Min-neapolis. Riversides Wagner, Pitts.burg Nationals; Na-tionals; Hagerman and DeFate, St. Paul; Brokaw, Toledo; Newt Randall, Milwaukee; Bunny Brief, Kansas City. Uuluth Falkenburg, Indianapolis: Leroy, Minneapolis; Delbourne, Des Moines. Dolac of the St. Louis Nationals and Purdue of the Boston Nationals accepted accept-ed terms, it is claimed, but have not reported. re-ported. The league has made "attractive of- fers" to several ma.ibr league a.ce6, including in-cluding Ty Cobb and Walter Johnson. Johnson was offered $o00 a game. Neither of these players replied to ths league's telegrams, a club owner said. Tho season opened the middle of July and. the schedule calls for games until September 8.
