Show NEW (HE BODIES I G0D1JISG01ED ETJREKA, Aug. 17. Work which the 1 Godiva people have been doing on the ; 900 level has resulted in opening a new j ore deposit, and a fine bunch of silver-i silver-i lead ore has also been developed in the ! winze now down a distance of about 100 1 feet below the 1200 leveL , These two ; discoveries, following so closely the rich strikes made in the ground which is in the hands of leasers, have rejuvenated this old-time producer and the outlook is most promising for a much heavier output. When asked regarding the work which, the company is doing. Superintendent John H. McChrystal said that preparations prepara-tions are being made to drift on the new ore which has already been opened by the winze. This find is particularly pleasing, pleas-ing, because it proves the continuity of the big ore system. The ore which is now being taken from this winze carries about forty ounces silver, 3 to 12 per per lead , and some gold. On the f00 the drift, in which work has been going on for some time, ore of pretty much the same grade has been encountered at about the point where the management expected results. Leasers at the Godiva continue to send out shipments of ore that run high in silver, and during the past few weeks work has been taken up on two or three more blocks. The upper part of the Godiva shaft, which is in loose formation, is to be concreted, con-creted, according to Mr. McChrystal. There is always more or less trouble where shaft timbers are placed In filled ground, and it is to do away with this that concrete will be put in. |
