Show AMERICAN POTASH BUYS SIGURD PLANT The American Potash &. Aluminum Co., operating the Deer Creek potash beds south of Alary svale. has purchased a calcining and crushing plant at Sigurd, the deal having just been closed by the mining company. Homer McCarty. associated as-sociated with the mining company, -was in Marysvale last Saturday and announced an-nounced that plans had been made to start operations just as quickly as possible pos-sible on the treatment of the ores from the mine. j A crew of men is now at work 0V1 the I road from the potash mine to Belknap, where the ore will be loa dtd for transportation trans-portation to the reduction plant. The distance dis-tance for road building Is but two and a half miles, and pood headway is being made, and it is expected to have the work completed within a very short time. The plant at Sigurd will have a capacity of treating fifty tons a day or more, and it has been planned to have this tonnage the daily output from the mine at present. Later, however, plans will be made for enlarging both the. plant and the output. The con.pany has a market for the product at eastern centers.--Piute Chieftain. |
