The town is but four years old and is perhaps the most progressive progres-sive place of its size in the state. With only 400 population, the place has cement sidewalks on both sides of Main Street for seven blocks, water works and electric lights and .; is contemplating a sewer system., There are perhaps as many bust? ! ness houses as in the entire county of Davis and several of them carry enormous stocks of goods: There are four churches, LDS, Methodist, Method-ist, Baptist and German and it is said that one-half the people do not belong to any, but help support all of them. Such is the little city of Tremontain situated in the Bear River Valley two miles from Garland, Gar-land, a town of about equal size and also a live one. |
