SORENSON Marsh keynote speaker at drug seminar By CHERIE HUBER WOODS CROSS The Woods Cross High School PTSA is sponsoring spon-soring a special program at Woods Cross High School on Thursday. The program is open to all parents and children in the county and admission is free. The program begins be-gins at 7 p.m. in the Woods Cross High School auditorium. Keynote speaker for the event is Henry Marsh, a world class and I . k - 1 I Olympic steeple chase runner and speaker of national acclaim. He will speak on "The Control Model" Mod-el" and how to become empowered empo-wered by learning to control your own life. After Mr. Marsh's talk, those attending have a choice of five workshops. Dean Marriott from the University of Utah will speak on the four deadly sins of communication. Lynn and David Mickel will speak on developing capable youth. This is a program they have taught throughout Davis County. David has been a teacher for 15 years and is a well-known youth speaker. Paul G. Sorenson will speak on self esteem while the Woods Cross High School Peer Support, the "Cats Club," will present a program prog-ram of psycho-social drama. !( 1 I , 7 Li DR. L. DEAN MARRIOTT See related story Page 5 Alene Wheelright from Lake-view Lake-view Hospital will be bringing parents pa-rents with her who have had to go through the struggle of adolescent substance abuse in the home. This free program is a good opportunity for both parents and their children to learn more about controlling their own lives. The first 300 people will also receive re-ceive a free Woods Cross High insignia in-signia mug. 1 |
