Show by DOUG ERICKSON Ragnarok week is here! If you're less than a true red-and-gold Viking, you might not know that Ragnarok is a big battle in Norse mythology. It's "the final combat between the Gods under the leadership of Odin; the doomsday of the world the last of the braves." Sounds pretty scary, huh? Actually, Viewmont's version of Ragnarok will be loads of fun; Vikes have a boatload of activities still to come. Today is the second annual Viewmont Film Festival. I hope none of you wasted your money in Park City last week, because Vikings have created some cinematic masterpieces. master-pieces. The best videos, made entirely en-tirely by students, are being shown in an assembly. The not-so-good ones are being shown tonight after the Viewmont Winter games. The games start at 6:30. Look forward to some human dogsled races, a bit of snow-football, and plenty more fun activities. And if you behave yourself, you'll get some doughnuts and ho' cho' with 'shmal-lows. 'shmal-lows. The Winter Games are just a little celebration of our Nordic heritage. heri-tage. Thursday, the fantastic girls' basketball team goes to East at 4 pm. The girls are truly amazing, and expect to keep their winning streak alive. At 6:30, Vikes will be enjoying a tailgate party for wrestling. That's right, our bold-and-mighty Viking wrestlers are taking on Bountiful at 7:30, Thursday night. Don't miss the tailgate party! You need the sugar from the doughnuts: you don't want get tired of cheering as our fine wrestlers wres-tlers pin those braves. Friday gets rolling with the bon- fire at 6:30 pm. If there's something that you'd like to get rid of, bring it down and throw it in. Bonfires are always fun count on it. Then, of course, comes the most significant part of Ragnarok the end of the braves. This will take place at 7:30 in the PIT. I'll repeat that for all of you PIT Crew members: mem-bers: 7:30 pm, at VHS. This test of basketball supremacy could get messy, but it's not to be missed! The post game stomp is from around 9 to 1 1 : 30 pm . The cost is $2. From midnight, Friday, to 6 am Saturday is the "Rag and Rock Around the Clock" stomp (I didn't make up the name). There will be dancing, food, games, etc. If you want to join in the fun, bring your signed permission slip and come before one o'clock. Cost for this one is also $2, and worth every penny! |
