Show Taylor Elementary is now a 'finalist5 By TOM HARALDSEN CENTERVILLE J. A. Taylor Elementary in Centerville has been chosen as one of the state's five finalists in the U.S. Department of Education 1987-88 Elementary School Recognition Recogni-tion Program. Principal Jean Madsen was notified that Taylor was chosen due to its "care and clarity with which your school's accomplishments accom-plishments were documented... particularly in math and science teaching, which was this year's emphasis." All submissions are being evaluated by an independent panel in Washington, D.C. Taylor Elementary could then be chosen for an on-site visit later this month prior to the final announcement announce-ment in late spring. This latest honor is another in a long list of accolades Taylor Elementary has earned in the past few years. Home of one of the Davis School District's satellite programs for gifted and talented students, J. A. Taylor has often been cited for its achievements and accomplishments academically. |
