Show 'CLASS' sponsors awareness week By STACY KENNEDY During the week of Feb. 1-5 Central Cen-tral Davis Junior High will observe a drug and' alcohol awareness week. The week will be sponsored by CLASS (Cubs Lead Against Student Substance Abuse), which is an organization dedicated to teaching students about the dangers dan-gers of drugs, alcohol, and tobacco abuse. The activities will include contests, con-tests, displays, movies, and guest speakers. Highlights of the week will be speakers, Chris Burch, Officer Ray Gibbons, Mark Dudley, Dud-ley, a representative of Benchmark Regional Hospital, demonstrations irom Layton City Police Departments Depart-ments Drug Dog, and the Emergency Emergen-cy Nurses Association from St. Benedict's Be-nedict's Hospital. A special PTA meeting will be held Monday, Feb. 8 at 7 p.m. in the school's auditorium. Officers Ray Gibbons and John Lynch of the Layton City Police Department, Depart-ment, with the Drug Dog will pre sent the meeting. CLASS advisor is Debbi Dickson; Dick-son; PTA representatives are Ruth Pratt and Kathy Oviatt. The offic ers are, president, Stacy Kennedy; vice president, Tori Wardell; secretary, sec-retary, Joni Johansen; programs 'chairperson, Kristen Smedley. |
