Ashley PTA attend confab Eleven Ashley PTA officers attended the State PTA Convention in Salt Lake City on May 1 and 2. Many ideas and helps were presented, Those present received enthusiasm and realized the importance im-portance of each parent working with the schools and the teachers in an effort to help children learn and progress. As stated by the state PTA president, Darlene Hutchison, "PTA is not holding positions. It does not matter where you serve. It's an opportunity to give of your time and efforts toward the most precious thing we have our children." The national PTA representative, Mrs. Ruby Murchison, who was the convention guest, complimented the PTA groups in Utah for their overwhelming over-whelming participation and concern for the children in their local PTA's. There were individual workshops and departments for each PTA officer as well as programs, displays and general sessions. Also, awards were presented to different units. The Ashley Elementary received a Superior Rating on this year's History Book, which was beautifully compiled by historian, Marget Kunz. Our PTA President, Debra Brady, submitted reports on the many accomplishements and projects completed this past year, and our PTA received an outstanding local unit award at the convention. |
