Show Uintah County expects $4.6 million within week Uintah County expects to pick up over $4.6 million in the next week or two and is looking for this highest short term certificates in which to invest this money. Commissioners stated at their Monday meeting that Hospital Corporation Cor-poration of America officials from Nashville were meeting with them Tuesday, May 26. At this time it is expected that HCA will turn over a $3.5 million check in return for the Uintah County Hospital. HCA has decided to forego the rest of the scheduled public hearings and purchase the hospital as soon as possible, according to the Commissioners. The county building permit for the construction of the Moon Lake Power Project is $1,136,139. Deseret Generation and Transmission Cooperative has tentatively set June 2 as the starting date for construction. The building permit must be paid before construction can start, so this means another million dollars plus in the coffers of Uintah County. The entire hospital receipts will be invested for at least a year. Approximately Ap-proximately $1 million has been earmarked ear-marked for use in constructing a new county nursing home. Part of the interest in-terest from the remaining $2.5 million will go to retire the hospital bonds over the next 13 years. The DG&T money will be earmarked to be spent on the direct route road from Vernal to Bonanza that will be used by DG&T. Also, $50,000 will be set aside for planning for energy impact problems. Local banking representatives will be invited to offer bids for the investment of the county in order to obtain the highest possible return on the investment, in-vestment, the Commissioners said. |
