Show THIRTY YEARS AGO May 24, 1951 Approval of the construction con-struction of Echo Park Dam, because of its importance im-portance to a new and secret defense plant to be located on the western slopes of the Rocky Mountains, Moun-tains, was noted by Secretary of Interior, Oscar Chapman, Tuesday in Denver. The Echo Park project would produce 200,000 kilowatts of power. Upwards of 320 families will be moving into this area due to increased activity ac-tivity in the oil industry, according to advance reports received by B. Frank Ward, manager of Vernal Chamber of Commerce. |
