Show I Naples I I Jo Openshaw I I Phone 789-3157 i Naples 2nd Ward reorganizes Naples 2nd ward reorganized their Relief Society, Sunday School and Young Men's MIA Sunday. Released from the Relief Society were Maxine Nelson as president, Rae Rasmussen and Dianne Colthorpe as counselors and Dora Cook as secretary. Sustained were Rae Rasmussen as president with Billie Dawn Johnson and DeeAnn McConkie as counselors. No secretary has been chosen yet. As president of the Sunday School, Clarence Palmer was released with counselors Duane Nelson and Wayne Gardiner. Phillip Man-waring Man-waring was sustained as Sunday School president. No counselors were chosen yet. Wayne Gardiner was sustained as Young Men's MIA president. Brent and Susan Men-ell and children of Rexburg, Idaho came Saturday night. Mrs. Merrell and children will spend two weeks with the Garth Rasmussen and Bishop Lorin Merrell families while Brent is in Orem attending at-tending a two weeks school for Utah Power and Light Co. Mr. Merrell left for Orem Sunday evening. John Kay and Kirk Reynolds went to Provo to attend a school function at Provo Monday and Tuesday last week. Naples First Ward fathers and sons attended an Aaronic Priesthood outing Friday night and Saturday morning at Island Park. Lee and Marilyn Broadbent have a baby boy born Tuesday May 12 at the Uintah County Hospital. The baby weighed 9 lbs oz. and will be named Anthony Lee. Grandparents are Lynn and Wanda Broadbent of Cedar City and Glen and Toni Reynolds. Great grandparents are Linus and Josephine Openshaw. Naples Second ward honored the outgoing Bishopric, Bishop Kristen Wilson, Wesley Bowden and M M. Hardy, Wednesday evening with a picnic and program at Remember the Maine Park. Fern Everett of Grand Junction, Colo., visited her mother, Nellie Richens two days last week. Thelma Manwaring went to Roosevelt last Tuesday to visit Elvyn and Venice Bascom. Gladys Peterson and Reva Ruppe visited Jackie Gurr and family in Lay, Colo., Wednesday. Amy Pope returned Saturday from a week of computer schooling in Portland, Por-tland, Ore., for Uintah County. Edna Call went to Salt Lake City Wednesday returning Sunday. Naples Second Ward held their overnight Aaronic priesthood outing Friday evening and Saturday morning at the Range Study Area. Billie Kay and son Bruce attended the Utah State Bowling Tournament held at Brigham City, Friday over the weekend. Also attending was Margie Merrell and John Kay. Mary Jean Robb accompanied by Linda Murray and sons Glen and Shane went to the Olympics held at Heler City, Friday and Saturday. Reva Ruppe and son Larry attended a birthday dinner for her granddaughter grand-daughter Christine Peterson at the Fran Peterson home in Jensen Sunday. Dr. Jay B. Karrcn and son Richard of Smitlifield, visited his mother, Edris Karren on Mother's Day. Dr. Karren spent three days in Vernal on business, returning Wednesday night. Connie C. Southam was released Sunday as first counselor in Naples F'irst Ward Primary and Chris Richardson was sustained. Max and Ilene Harrison of Provo visited over the weekend with their mother, Edris Karren. |
