Keeping cool on fewer dollars The time to start controlling your air conditioning costs this summer is before you turn the cooling unit on. the Edison Klec-' trie Institute advised recently. Air conditioners, like other machinery in your home, will give the most benefit for your dollar if they operate at maximum maxi-mum efficiency. Before using cilher a window air conditioner or a central air conditioning unit, the Institute advises that fans and motors be cleaned and oiled, that any obstructions ob-structions lo air flow near the condenser unit be removed and that fillers be cleaned or replaced as needed. If your air conditioning equipment equip-ment has not heen professionally inspected for several years it might he advisable lo have (he electrical circuits checked and the refrigerant system inspected for proper fluid level and leaks.
