Vernal. The Casada-Roberts-Sevy-Brown crew burned the course for 11 birdies and one eagle. The team posted scores of 28 on the first nine and 31 on the second se-cond nine. The crew had hole scores of: 3-31-3-3-3-3-4-2 and 3-4-4-3-3-4-3-4-3. An eagle was acquired by the first place team on the number two hole on the first nine and birdies were gained on the number three, number four, number five, number seven holes, twice and number two, number six and number nine holes. The team had six under par scores in a row (number two to number seven) on the first nine and had four under par scores in a row (number two to number four) on the second se-cond nine. Casada put in a 12 foot putt for a birdie bir-die on the number nine hole on the first nine. Sevy took over in the putting department for the first place team as he sank a 40 foot putt (the ball was xh foot from the green) for a birdie on number five hole and tapped in a 12 foot putt on the number seven hole for a birdie bir-die on the second nine. The team knocked knock-ed in the ball for an eagle on number two on the first nine. Each team won $50. The Pease-York-Durrant-Povich team posted scores of 31 on the first nine and 32 on the second nine. The crew had scores of: 3-4-4-4-3-3-4-3 and 2-4-4-4-4-3-4-4-3. The team posted nine birdies in the tournament. The golfers had birdies on number two, number three, number six holes, twice and number one, five, seven. Abercrombie, Epperson, Higgins and Piltser were only one stroke behind the first place team on the first nine due to a score of 29, but a score of 34 on a second se-cond nine dropped the team into a tie for second place. The, team fired hole scores of: 2-4-3-3-3-5-4-3-2 and 4.4-44-4-3-4-4-3. The golfers had an eagle on the number three hole on the first nine and nine birdies, number two, twice; number one, number three, number four, number five, number six, number eight and number nine, but bogeys on the par four number one hole and on the par four number six hole hurt the team's first place chances. The second place golfers won $34.50 each. A score of 64 enabled the golf team of Craig Schweiger, Ron Hackney, Max Wooley and Jim Slaugh to capture fourth place and $25 each. The team fired rounds of 32 on the first nine and 32 on the second nine. Cecil Wall, Mike Bethune, Art Melton and Moon Mullins pocketed fifth place with a score of 65. The team fired rounds of 32 on the first nine and 33 on the second nine. Each golfer won $18.75. Five teams tied for sixth place honors at 66 and won $5 each.
