Convention held at the Hotel Utah on May 8 and 9. The convention con-vention was attended bv 343 menhers Linda is presently serving as president of Chapter C in Vernal. Mrs. Naomi Weyher, Salt Lake City was elected state president for the coming year. Her new officers are Mrs. Urith Hereim, Salt Lake City, organizer; Mrs. Susan Coda, Salt Lake City, first vice president; Mrs. Elaine Herndon, Ogden, second vice president; Mrs. Patricia Harns, Salt Lake City, corresponding secretary; Mrs. Mary Bone, Farmington, treasurer, and Mrs. Linda Shimmin, Vernal, recording secretary. Mrs. Eleanor Ehlers, Klamath Falls, Ore., represented the International Chapter as keynote speaker. It was announced that Marie Lourdes Juan of the Philippine Islands has been awarded an International Peace Scholarship for PhD work at Utah State University. Miss Juan is the only IPS recipient in Utah at the present time. Chapter D, Salt Lake City and Chapter F, Ogden closed the proceedings with an invitation to attend the 47th Annual Convention in 1982 which they will co-host at the Little America Hotel. |
